KO Pest Control, formerly 1st Choice Pest Solutions, is a family-owned and operated business operating in Central and Northern Wisconsin. Co-owners Chuck Oelig and Nathan Knetter bring over 25 years of innovative pest control experience to our communities.
One of our core values is giving back to the community, and we actively engage in various volunteer activities. We work closely with organizations such as Bridge Street Mission, Wausau Noon Optimist, school PTO boards, and various church activities.

Chuck Oelig
Owner/Pest Control Technician/Certified Entomologist
Chuck Oelig is a seasoned professional in the pest control industry, with over two decades of experience. Chuck's career began humbly as a technician at a prominent regional pest control company, where he quickly climbed the ladder of success. Within a year, he became a District Supervisor and further progressed to the role of Regional Manager. Chuck then transitioned to the corporate headquarters, where he played pivotal roles as a company trainer and sales director, adding value to every aspect of the business. His dedication to mastering the field led him to become a Certified Entomologist, highlighting his deep knowledge and commitment to pest control. As life evolved and his family grew, Chuck moved back to Central Wisconsin, where he joined the KO Pest Control Team. He not only became an integral part of the company but also took on the mantle of ownership for the Wausau region.
Guided by his extensive experience and fueled by the support of his family, Chuck now operates the Wausau area of the company alongside his son-in-law, Nathan. With his daughter Sarah recently joining as the office manager, Chuck hopes the Oelig family legacy continues with the next generations.
His commitment to excellence is not only evident in his extensive experience but also in his personal life. Chuck has been married to his wife Denise for 41 years, and together they have two daughters, Katie and Sarah, and three grandchildren, Lianna, Will, and Drew. Chuck volunteers his time with Bridge Street Mission, Thrive Church and Celebrate Recovery. He also enjoys time outdoors, bird hunting with his German Shorthaired Pointers and traveling whenever he can.
Nathan Knetter
Owner/Pest Control Technician/Licensed in Wildlife Trapping
Nathan Knetter is a dedicated professional with a passion for pest control and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. With five years of experience in the industry, Nathan has honed his skills in both residential and commercial pest control, showcasing his expertise in trapping and wildlife remediation. As a testament to his commitment, he became a part owner of the company two years ago. Nathan's roots on a farm have instilled in him a deep appreciation for practical solutions and hard work. His versatile background also includes a strong sales foundation, further enhancing his ability to understand and serve his clients' needs effectively. Nathan Knetter is a driven individual who brings a wealth of knowledge and a customer-focused approach to every aspect of his work. When not at work, Nathan enjoys spending time with his wife, Katie, and their yellow lab Vinny.
Sarah Zuelke
Office Manager
Sarah joined her dad and brother-in-law at KO Pest Control in 2023 after a 15-year career in Funeral Service. She brings her passion for service with her as the Office Manager. Whether it's answering phones, scheduling appointments or assisting with administrative tasks, Sarah is always ready to lend a helping hand to assist clients and ensure their satisfaction.
Outside of work, Sarah is a devoted wife and mother of 3 young kids. She values giving back to the community and is actively involved in Wausau Noon Optimists and volunteers with the Maine Elementary PTO. Sarah is also an avid reader and is always open to new book suggestions.
